first_img North Korea tries to accelerate building of walls and fences along border with China RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR News News Defector groups in South Korea have expressed their determinationto continue their struggle against the Kim Jong Eun regime in order that the 46seamen who perished on the ROKS Cheonan did not lose their lives in vain.Marking the fourth anniversary of the sinking, Hong Sun Kyungof the Committee for the Democratization of North Korea told Daily NK yesterday,“No matter who may argue otherwise, the sinking of the ROKS Cheonan was an act perpetratedby North Korea; a fact the Kim Jong Eun regime mustacknowledge and reflect upon. If they wish to become a memberof the international community then they must take full responsibility fortheir actions.”Continuing, he resolved his group would continue doing their best to bring about “change that will see the transformation ofthe lives of the North Korean people.”Lee Seok Yong of Free North Korea Radio concurred, asserting that defector groups will “unite forces in condemning the inhumaneacts of North Korea.”“We will never forget the sacrifice made by these young men in their 20s while defending South Korea’s territorial waters,” he said, before adding, “We will not cease our struggle against the Kim Jong Eunregime until the day it sincerely reflects on its mistakes and guarantees thefreedom and human rights of its people.”Around thirty members of various defector groups met yesterdayat the Daejeon National Cemetery to pay their respects to the fallen. A furtherfifty activists convened at the Unification Observatory in Paju on Tuesday to fly600,000 leaflets condemning the sinking of the Cheonan across the border intoNorth Korea.
